Cortez, Colorado
Located in the Southwest corner of Colorado (only about 25 miles from the Four Corners), Cortez is placed between glorious deserts and majestic mountains.
Cortez serves as your base for visiting the incomparable cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park and its neighbor, the Ute Tribal Park. Here, in the archaeological heartland of the United States, vast cultural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities await your discovery: Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Canyon of the Ancients, Crow Canyon, the Anasazi Heritage Center to name a few. Within a few minutes drive, you can be hiking or fishing or enjoying incredible fall colors in the nearby mountains.
Parking Information
Water and Electric (30amp & 20amp) are available at the fairgrounds. Please bring an extra hose and “Y” fitting for daisy chaining water or just fill your water tank when you arrive. There is a mixture of 20amp and 30amp power connections at the site. Please bring the necessary adapters and cords. There are no sewer connections, but there are bathrooms and showers (pay) in the main building. Dumping is available at the KOA (fee) located one mile from the fairground.
Cortez Lodging
If you are attending without an Airstream, there are numerous hotels and motels to choose from in the area. You can find more information here.
Pets
Pets are welcome, but are not allowed inside any of the buildings (service dogs excluded). The City of Cortez has a dog park located a mile from the fairgrounds and dogs can be off leash in the park.
